12th August, Guwahati: The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati, organized the National Librarians’ Day.

Dr. Tarini D. Goswami welcomed the delegates. The event commenced with an inaugural address by Prof. Ashis Kr. Mukherjee, Director of IASST. He emphasized libraries’ crucial role in the academic and research ecosystem. He highlighted how libraries evolve in the digital age, becoming more integral to knowledge dissemination and research support.

On the occasion of the event, the keynote address and the invited talk were delivered by Dr. Shantanu Ganguly, Director of HDFC Library at Ashoka University, Sonipat. Dr. Ganguly’s talk, “Analytics and Visualization Experience: A Holistic View,” offered an insightful exploration of how modern libraries can leverage analytics and visualization tools to enhance their services.

The event was attended by library professionals and faculty, including Prof Sanjay Kr Singh, Dr. Tilak Hazarika, Dr. Sanjay Kr. Barman, Media Librarian, Doordarshan Kendra, Guwahati, faculty, research scholars and staff of IASST.
