Recreation facility

The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) has number of Recreation Facility for all-round development of cultural, health and motivational activities to the institute’s staff and research scholars.

Chintan Chora

A twin structure of indigenous material built structure named “Chintan Chora” serve as a venue for intellectual brainstorming of research groups of IASST and housed photographs of luminaries of Assam and India in science for inspiration of visitors.

Mini Indoor Sports Complex 

Sports enthusiasts will find to engage themselves at the mini indoor sports complex of IASST. The mini indoor sports complex of the institute is equipped with Badminton court and Gymnasium facilities with all modern scientific equipment like treadmills, cross-trainer, recumbent bike, abdominal machine, and dumbbells. At the same time, Chess boards and Carom boards, Table Tennis tables are available in the hostel common rooms.

Football Ground

Keeping in mind the importance of football games and its vitality in an individual’s health and fitness, the institute has one playfield for Football and other track as field of events.

Volleyball Court

The institution has a Volleyball court to promote and encourage volleyball game for its staff and students as part of the development activity.

Observatory Building

The students’ curiosity and the campus kids regarding the planet are taken care of by setting up a telescope at observatory building. The main aim of the building is to promote observing the distant objects in the earth and popularize it among the students of nearby areas. 

Bio-resource Conservation Hub (BCH)

The institute has BCH at the low lying areas measuring 20 bighas of land where a pond with good numbers of local and table fish varieties are cultivated. Various horticultural and forest plant species were planted. The BCH is one of attractive place of the institute offering leisure and amusement. A small tea garden has also been developed in 100 sqm. plot.
