The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India along with the rest of the nation with great enthusiasm and solemnity on 26 January 2026. The programme commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Prof. Devasish Chowdhury, Director (In-charge) & Head, Physical Sciences Division, followed by the National Anthem. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Chowdhury called upon the scientific community of IASST to contribute meaningfully to nation-building by working for development of India through science and technology. In his address, he also highlighted the significant achievements of IASST in research, innovation, publications, and capacity building, underscoring the institute’s role in advancing scientific excellence. The celebration was further enriched by soulful patriotic songs presented by the research scholars, which filled the atmosphere with national pride. The programme concluded with a grand parade by the security personnel, whose disciplined and impressive performance enthralled the audience and added a dignified finale to the occasion.
