The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff, and students. The event began with the National Flag hoisting by Director Prof. Ashis K. Mukherjee, who urged the IASST community to contribute towards building a self-reliant, innovative, and inclusive India. The celebrations included patriotic songs, the National and State Anthem, and the prize distribution of a national-level essay competition on “Role of Innovation & Start-up: Foundation for Prosperous & Developed India (Viksit Bharat)”. Prizes were also distributed to employees who have used Rajbhasha (Hindi) in their official work. Adding to the spirit of nation-building, several new facilities, including a state-of-the-art greenhouse, Maniram Dewan Incubation Complex-BioNEST, and Animal House at IASST, were inaugurated—marking yet another milestone in IASST’s journey of fostering science, innovation, and entrepreneurship for societal impact.
