
The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) animal house provides a state-of-the-art facility for preclinical drug discovery, offering in vivo evaluation in various disease models, including Cancer, Endocrine Metabolic, Cardiovascular, and Autoimmune Diseases. Moreover, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) studies are conducted to experimentally assess the intrinsic properties of drug candidates and their toxicokinetics parameters.
This Animal House is registered with the Committee for Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CCSEA), which is part of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Government of India. The facility boasts state-of-the-art features, including Individually Ventilated Cages (IVC), a Bed Disposal System (BDS), an Animal Changing Station (ACS), a Rodent Anaesthesia Chamber, an Automated Zebrafish Aquaculture Facility, and a Rodent Surgical Table. IASST strictly adheres to CCSEA guidelines and recognizes the facility’s pioneering contributions in the North-eastern region of India.
