On 21 August 2023, IASST organized an orientation program for newly admitted Ph.D. scholars and post-doctoral fellows for 2023-24. The orientation program included informative speeches and visits to various laboratories aimed at familiarizing the students with the institute’s functional bodies and facilities, such as the Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Centre (SAIC), Knowledge Resource Centre (KRC), IT division, Administrative division, Security division, and others.

In his introductory speech, Prof. Ashis K. Mukherjee, Director of IASST, encouraged the students to adopt a collaborative approach to their research work and to work diligently. Prof. Mukherjee also emphasized the importance of maintaining a constant interdisciplinary research approach, highlighting that it fosters innovation by bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise from various fields.

Various faculty members and administrative officials rendered several engaging and informative speeches, including Dr. Diganta Goswami, Registrar. Dr. Dhruba Sharma, Academic Affairs Consultant, Prof. Jagat Bora, Head of the Life Sciences Division, Prof. Neelotpal Sen Sarma, Head of Physical Sciences division, R&D Head Prof. Munima B. Sahariah, Head R&D, Prof. Subir Biswas, Faculty and Hostel Warden, Prof. Sarathi Kundu, Head of SAIC and, Bijuphukan Bhagawati, IT Cell In-charge.
